ESPANA!
In between what has been a pretty crappy day, I was delighted to see that Spain used brilliant passing to slice through a tough defense to kick Portugal in the mouth. Sorry Ronaldo, guess you can go back to being a beauty queen. :)

My Simple, Dream Home Studio
Okay, so I’m all horny on recording equipment so I gotta put this all down. I hope to have my dream studio in the next year. This is, of course, knowing full well that I’ll always want to add more stuff as I go along. But these are the essentials I want to start with.
Currently, I have a Macbook and a Blue Snowball USB mic through Garageband. They get the job done but the quality...

Longing...
Something I wrote a while ago…
I’m starting to realize how much I miss you. How I have such a large capacity to miss you. I think about the things we do individually and it rips my heart out that we can’t be there together. I want the parallel lines to intersect. I want the paths to come together.
I’ve been in control of my emotions to this point. I’ve approached...

MMRF, Donations are appreciated →
7 years ago, after a long fight, my father passed away from Multiple Myeloma, a bone marrow cancer. With help from family, friends, and research, he spent his last years fighting for his life and nearly succeeded.
But the fight is not over yet!
Fathers, Mothers, and children will be saved! New and continued research is the only way to do it. There is hope!
This father’s day, instead...

Golden Bear
So, for about two or three months now I’ve been telling my coworker/friend Kelsey that we need to hit up the Golden Bear (bar) again and get some John Daly’s (basically an Arnold Palmer with alcohol). Every friday we talk about going out and sucking down 3 or 4 of those bad boys and every friday she has to be with her kid or I go home and want to nap.
NOT THIS TIME. Though my bed is...

New Song
I’ve had my break long enough. I’m recording a new song this week. Maybe two. I’m feeling it again. I think any artist can understand that sometimes you need to get away for a bit and recover, I think I’ve done that. I’m feeling the itch again. I love it.

I don’t think I told you guys I won an iPhone last week. You guys. I won an iPhone last week.
Just thought I should let Tumblr know: How did she win said iPhone?
By winning a speech contest, with a speech she wrote the morning of said speech contest.
I still strongly dislike public speaking
But if it gets me free iPhones…….
Let me also add that...

I found that interesting because as much as I’d love to be a musician, I’d rather work a job that provides for my community and my family. If I worked with music, I’d open a...

Theatre
I don’t think there is anything I have more of a love/hate relationship with. What’s funny is that I have the same feelings toward the show Glee. I’ll try to explain:
When theatre is done well, there is very little that can outdo it when it comes to pure, raw emotion. When a show-stopping tune actually hits like it is supposed to, it can take your breath away. When a monologue...

Names
Random fact: I don’t know if it’s subconscious or not, but I tend to date girls with less common names. What’s more, the ones I’ve been serious with have been even less common. The reason? I usually feel like that name is ruined after I break up with a girl. I also feel wrong dating another girl of the same name. I feel like it ruins the time we had. I’m like this...

Sports
I wish my left knee hadn’t blown out in that football game when I was trying to tackle the QB on the rainy, muddy field. Maybe I would’ve continued playing. Maybe I would’ve become a really good linebacker (I certainly read the field well and had speed, I just needed to get stronger). Maybe I would’ve gotten a scholarship to play at college and could have graduated off...

Hi RHYMESWITHBEAN! →
You started following me for some reason and I started following you because you seem interesting. I read your about me post and I like it a lot. I especially relate with the following:
I tend to use this thing for working out family angst, posting lots and lots of irrational rants, finding pretty pictures, and complaining about hangovers. So, what I’ve been thinking a lot about to do this...

We Carry On
Sometimes after an issue resolves itself, going back to the status quo is nice.
My mom said today, “If I can’t laugh about it, I’ll just cry. So I have to laugh about it.”
I agree. A dinner out with the family after she got out. After 3 days of seeing her for an allotted time and sharing tears and fears and frustrations we needed to feel like nothing happened. We...

I've lived a full, messed up life.
Almost every single one is crossed out, the ones that aren’t are things I HAVE NOT done. Ask me if you want to know the stories behind any of these. :)
Graduated High School. Kissed someone. Smoked cigarettes. Got so drunk you passed out. Rode every ride at an amusement park. Collected something really stupid. Gone to a rock concert. Helped someone. Gone fishing. Watched four movies in...

Moment of Weakness
Give me a moment. I have a chance to collect my thoughts for the first time in a few days. I’ve been exhausted and emotionally drained and overwhelmed. I’m a small trigger away from crying at any moment. I feel the very core of my strength being tugged at constantly. At the same time, I feel numb and almost dead at times. I can’t put much into words but I’m trying right...

Crash: A Poem By Me
Trapped in a room with one window
The view was toward the future
My eyes were fixed to the horizon
I was unaware the room was burning
I saw a portrait
With colours unknown to me
An embellished design
Was never meant to be
When life was in flux
I had my crutch
But in a room of content
My thoughts became bent
I plucked at the seams
I faltered in dreams
And placed in a cast
I...
